It’s not every day I get to do a review on my own products. In fact, as I am busy getting set up for the launch on Monday there is a lot to do, a lot of boxes to check, a lot of JVs to contact, and quite frankly, I completely forgot about it. Isn’t that crazy? Just like the dentists’ kids have the worst teeth, the review blogger forgets to give his own product a review!
So, anyway, here I am to give you an update about this new product on the eve of launching.
The Stealth Affiliate Commissions System is an extremely simple, yet absolutely effective, affiliate marketing system. The target audience is the beginning marketer, but it is equally effective for anyone wishing to add a new stream of income to their business.
What is it? How Does it work? What are the details?
Well, if you want all the details, you’re going to have to buy the book, for goodness’ sake! I told you it’s simple. If I tell you too much more you’ll cut me out of the picture.
Don’t worry, there is a complete 100% money-back guarantee. I only want raving fans as customers. I don’t want my good name and reputation dragged through the mud. So, if you have a little bit of trepidation about clicking the “Buy Now” button, I want to assure you that you will either be a) Another RAVING FAN customer, or b) You’ll get your money back.
If you’re thinking about buying it for yourself and want all the details (that I can tell you) about the system, you can check it out at the sales page HERE…
If you would like the JV (joint venture partner) info to promote it to your list, you can check it out HERE…
What I really want to address today is the price.
It has come up in conversation with a few of my colleagues. “Pat, $197? Isn’t that too steep? I don’t think people will go for it.”
I know. I know. We live in a world with $7.95 front end products and endless upsells.
But here’s the thing. I’m out here in the trenches reviewing big launches all the time. I purchase a lot of products under $10, and you know what? It’s almost all JUNK!
None of that $7.95 garbage lives up to the sales hype. There are very few products at $7.95 that I recommend without suggesting my subscribers get the upsell. (A lot of so-so front end products become viable money-makers when you include a few reasonable upsells.)
With all of the focus on 100% commissions on the front end, ridiculously low-priced entry level products, and getting a prospect into an endless sales funnel with upsell after upsell, I think we have lost sight of a very important sales objective: Over-delivering, and providing massive value to our customers.
I mean, what good is it if we keep the prices way, way low, but don’t deliver the goods in the front end product?
If our customer doesn’t get the add ons, electing to go with the front end product with the expectation they’ll get everything they need to know in the e-book, they’ll be disappointed when things don’t go as expected.
In the end, the product creator is left holding the bag. The customer is frustrated with the $7.95 product and becomes jaded toward the entire industry, the JV who promoted it gets a more and more sales resistant list who doesn’t trust him to deliver (while at the same time getting tiny commissions on front end products), and the product creator is making zero on the front end product, and new customers who think he’s a liar when his product doesn’t live up to the long sales letter hype.
In my opinion, cheap front end products are ruining us all! They are bad all the way around: For the consumer, the JV, and the product owner.
So, here is my contribution back to a more reasonable marketplace.
You know, I bought David Vallieres’ “You Can! Make A Living Online” back around 2008 for (coincidentally) $197. It is over 200 pages of real deal marketing information plus has over the shoulder videos of David doing a lot of technical things, PLUS audio interviews. That was a big chunk for me at the time, but you know what? That is the single best investment in a product I have ever made! A lot of it is timeless marketing insight. It is gold. Since 2008 I have always gone back to that book and when I see new things coming out, the principles are right there.
David never gave his stuff away for pennies, but I never felt “ripped off.” Even at $197, I always felt that David was a guy with integrity who over-delivered to his customers.
(By the way, David just retired from Internet marketing and I was privileged to have purchased the rights to ALL of his past products including “You Can! Make A Living Online” which I’m offering as a BONUS with this book.)
So, what am I saying here?
I think it’s time for the pendulum to start moving in the other direction.
I’m tired of seeing JVs work their tails off for a $7.95 commission, and even have half of those returned because the product doesn’t live up to its expectation.
It seems like only those JVs who can place in the top 3 on leader boards can make any decent money from the big prize money. Everyone else gets crumbs. If that.
I would think that if a JV would get a decent commission, they might even be more inclined to spend a little bit on pay-per-click, Facebook, or solo advertising which would help to get the word out about the new product launch.
I’m also tired of seeing product creators making zero on the front end. “The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.” We should not expect those who labor in the creation of a product to make absolutely nothing on it and give all of the profit away.
So, that’s my rant on the $7.95 front end product.
My strategy is to simply offer a system that actually works as advertised. (This is not some antiquated method that worked in 2006, but not today. It is the exact same method that I use today to pull in affiliate money.) I want the customer to be profitable within their first month with a system that works right out of the box that is easy to implement.
I want to make it worth any JV’s efforts to promote it.
And, of course, I want to make a little money too.
There are no upsells. No sales funnel. Just one great product that will get a new Internet marketer profitable very quickly, with plenty of bonus material to take their business to the next level if they so choose.
We’ll see if my strategy pans out.
